Installed (with help from a muffler shop) a new AquaHot exhaust. The old one had rusted pretty bad and I was tired of having the exhaust come out under the living room slide. There was no way to open the window even if just using the AquaHot for hot water.
It’s a 1.75-inch pipe welded from two pieces and mounted with 3 hangers. I used the old chrome tip which was very pitted but sanded and sprayed it with high temp aluminum color paint. The tip is butt mounted with a strap which was cut down from one for a larger diameter pipe. (the most fun part of the whole project.)
I will paint the whole pipe to reduce the chance of rust and may add a heat shield over the first bend. Infrared temp sensor showed it got to almost 300 degrees at the bend — really not that bad but who needs that heat baking the bottom?
An additional plus is a long pipe really cuts down on the exhaust noise.
