I recently replaced my rear TV with a 19 inch LCD. I used a 19″ Sharp HDTV, pretty easy change with no cabinet modifications.
- Remove the old rear TV from the cabinet – access Panel is in the closet – four screws (6?-8?) to take out the panel and you have access to rear or bedroom TV – I have hex head screws, not Phillips in mine.
- Installed flat piece of plywood from Inside – screw to the face of the original cabinet (don’t use too long of screws or drill too deep) this fills original hole from the inside cabinet – I painted it black before install
- Install wall mount for the flat screen on plywood that you just installed in the cabinet – simple surface mount from outside – a few screws and you are done
- The drill access hole in same plywood (the hole will be behind the TV and not visible once you hang the TV on the bracket)
- Run TV power and antennae connections back into original wiring in cabinet
- Mount TV on the bracket
