There is nothing very difficult about attaching a shade screen… you put snap receivers (stainless) on the roller by drilling a hole through the fabric and the roller and then attach the snap receivers to the roller using pop rivets… and then attach snap caps to the screen… you need to be VERY careful to space both the snap receivers on the roller and the snap caps on the screen EXACTLY the same distance apart… I put them on 12 inch centers… I marked on a longboard at 12-inch points and used that and white chalk to place the snaps… When it’s attached you can roll the whole thing up with screen attached in case of high wind warnings…. but I wouldn’t travel with it attached…
I called Zip Dee to find out what to do and they sent me all the stuff to do it… but I think it was about $70 including the die to attach the snap caps… I think it would be LOTS less to find the stuff locally…
This shows the stuff you need to do the job which I bought from Zip Dee… they sent me the tools and the snap parts
The center-left shows the punch and a little plastic block to put under the sunshade which you use to punch a hole through it. On the right are a top and bottom view of the 2 parts (one on each side of the sunshade) which you need to attach to the sunshade using the tools (center right) to spread the rivet to hold the 2 parts together
